Carl Merson was Dispatcher with Sharon Higgins, Dave Naujokas and Dan
McCaffery and Student Conductor.
Saturday (5/10)
At last the rotary converter that had been stored just north of 28th
street was brought inside the 22nd Street shop and under cover. After a
lot of work it was stored in the building awaiting a display place in the
future. This rotary converter is very similar to the ones used by the
transit company in Baltimore and converted alternating electricity to
direct current needed to run the streetcars.

as crew for a charter.
Saturday (5/31)
Chris McNally inspected and lubricated the trolley wheels on the revenue
cars while John La Costa inspected, adjusted and lubricated the
controllers.
Ed Amrhein, Joyce Boblitz, CJ and Chris Howell, with the help of the
backhoe repaired a bent fence section along the Falls Road side of the
yard.
CJ and John La Costa repaired a loose cable under 554.

Smith as crew with Dan McCaffery starting his first student motorman
runs.

Ben Bates was Dispatcher with Mike Citro, M Bates and Jim Robertson as
crew for a charter.
Saturday (6/8)
Chris Howell and Dan Lawrence were the Dispatchers for the day with Fred
Schneider, Mark Dawson, Andy Blumberg, Jim Robertson, Buster Hughes and
Eric Smith as crew. Dan McCaffery started his first student motorman
runs.
Wednesday (6/11)
Ben Bates was Dispatcher with Charlie Plantholt, Jim Robertson, M. Bates
and Ray Cannon as crew for a charter.
Saturday (6/14)
Joyce Boblitz and John La Costa cleaned and adjusted 1164's brakes.
Rick Obbink and CJ worked on adjusting the gear on 7407's drive axel.
Sam and Bill cleaned 554's windows.
Ed Amrhein repaired the VC roof.
Chris Howell was Dispatcher with Dennis Falter, Carl Thistel and Fred
Schneider as crew with Joyce Boblitz taking her first student conductor
runs.

Ben Bates was Dispatcher with Bob Cohen, Mark Dawson and Dan Lawrence as
crew on Father's day.

Ed Amrhein, Dan McCaffery, Dave Crow and Bill Amrhein work of the brakes
of 264.
In the shop Rick Obbink and Gary Fairbanks continued to work on some new
machines that had arrived.
Bob Krueger was Dispatcher with Don Homberg and Joyce Boblitz as crew for
a charter.
Sunday (6/22)
John La Costa reassembled 264 brake system. After completeing this task I
started filling the area in the 22nd street shop that will become the
future home to additional machine shop equipment.
Buster Hughes and Mark Dawson repaired light clusters along the right of
way in preparation for an upcoming night photo charter.
Gary continued working in the shop.
Ed Amrhein was Dispatcher with Chris McNally and Dom Homberg as crew with
Dan McCaffery continuing his student motorman trips.
Saturday (6/28)
Ed Amrhein and Justin Thillman worked on 6119's controller.
Ed, Justin and I took another look at 264's brakes to make sure they were
OK, and they were.
Joyce Boblitz lubricated trolley wheels.
Rick and CJ worked on a new mill to get it fully functional (it would be
used later next month)
Work stated on preparing the El Passo PCC for painting.
Mark Hurley was Dispatcher with Dave and Joe Naujokas, Dennis Falter and
Carl Merson as crew. Dan McCaffery completed his student motorman trips.

Thistel and Paul Ritterhoff as crew for a night Charter.
Friday (7/4)
Chris Howell was Dispatcher with Carl Thistel, Bernie Sachs, Mel Boteler,
Ben Bate and Charlie Plantholt as crew for a charter.

Ben Bates was Dispatcher with Dennis Falter and Fred Schneider as crew
and Joyce Boblitz continuing her student conductor runs.

Work continued on 6119's controller with Ed and Bill Amrhein, Eric Smith
and Dan McCaffery pitching in.
This same crew also repaired holes in 7303, the new PCC while Donald
Gwynm primed the car.
Dave Crow was Dispatcher with Fred Schneider, Joyce Boblitz and Dennis
Falter as crew.
Work at 22nd street shop continued to prepare to pour a new concrete
floor.

Saturday (7/26)
After a series of heavy rains, a large amount of old wood had found its
way along side of the right of way. Ed Amrhein, Sam and Bill, Dennis
Yeager and I cleaned the area behind the 22nd street shop.
Donald Gwynm continued paining 7303.
6119's controller finally won and we were forced to remove the car from
service. The fingers on a part of the controller had gone out of
adjustment and started to arc. By the time it was discovered, two
insulators had been burned beyond use. The shop has started to make
replacements.
