6619 was out of service for an air leak. It took about 2 hors to trace the problem down, a small piece of dirt that was stuck under a check valve in the center door circuit. After I cleaned the dirt out, 6119 was back in service.

We had been having trouble with one of the Car House overhead track doors over the past few weeks. After finding out the cause of the problem, I fabricated a new spacer and the door repaired.

Buster Huges continued work on 554 and installed the roof steps.

During the afternoon I cleaned, lubricated and adjusted the controllers on 4533, 1050 and 1164.

Jim Robertson spent the morning, and some of the afternoon painting the metal fence next to track 1.

Sam and the rest of his family cleaned windows on 554 in preparation of its return to revenue service.

Rick Obbink and Bill worked at 22nd street shop.

Dan Lawrence was Dispatcher with John Diefenbach and Dennis Falter as crew.

I was Dispatcher with Carl Thistel, David Navjokas and Eric Smith as crew.

Buster Hughes ran the new trolley wire from the roof of car 554 to the controller.

Carl Merson was Dispatcher with Justin Thillman, Dennis Falter, Bob Alpen, and Bob Cohen as crew.

     Sunday (7/7)

28th Street Line     Dennis Yeager, David Crow and I spent the morning at 28th street continuing to replace the old span insulators with new ones.

Buster Hughes installed a replacement cluster over the walkway between the Visitor's Center and the Car House.

Ed Amrhein was Dispatcher with Dom Homberg, Drew Paren, Eric Smith and Bernie Sachs as crew.

     Saturday (7/13)

26th Street Crew     The track gang was out early to work on the compromise joint at 26th street. Compromise joints are used when rails of different size and/or shape are connected to each other. At 26th street the rail changes from normal T rail to trolley girdle rail. The track crew included Josh Lepman, Ben Bates, Jim Robertson, Drew Paren, Mark Dawson and Mel Boteler.

Justin Thillman and Chris McNally added traffic light to the O gauge layout in the Visitor's Center.

Mark Hurley was Dispatcher with Dennis Falter and Eric Smith as crew.

     Sunday (7/14)

Chris Howell was Dispatcher with Drew Paren and John Diefenbach as crew.

     Saturday (7/20)

Rick Obbink, Ed Amrhein and I continued the slow task of clearing out the area next to the car house in preparation of add tack four. The rocks are big and its very muddy.

Dave Crow and I took one of the two hoods of 2324 to the stripper.

Dave Crow and Buster Hughes continued working on 554 and installed trim work and painted the hip roof.

7407's MG was not working very well so Ed Amrhein and I removed the voltage regulator and I took it home to check it out.

Dan Lawrence was Dispatcher with Chris McNally, Paul Riterhoff and Dennis Falter as crew.

     Sunday (7/21)

Dan Lawrence was Dispatcher with Jim Robertson, Eric Smith, Drew Paren and Buster Hughes as crew.

     Tuesday (7/23)

Mother nature decided that we needed rain more than the band concert. While the concert was cancelled, we did get a few riders. Mark Hurley was Dispatcher, Chris Howell was Starter at 27th stret and Eric Smith, Drew Paren and I were crew.

     Saturday (7/27)

During the week I readjusted and tested 7407's voltage regulator and with the help of Dennis Yeager and Ed Amrhein installed it back in 7407. 7407 used low voltage (32 volt DC) to control the propulsion system. The MG (motor generator) not only supplies cooling air to the acceleration resistors, it provides a source of low voltage to keep the batteries charged. The regulator had gone out of adjustment and was not holding the voltage steady.

While I was under 7407 I cleaned the commutator on the air compressor.

Due to some extra vehicles stored in the car house, the line truck was getting too close to some of the other streetcars so Ed Amrhein, Chris Howell and I removed the ladder brackets to make the line truck thinner. They will go back on when the Car House losses some of the extra vehicles.

John Engleman continued to work on the O gauge layout.

At 22nd Street shop Rick Obbink and Gary Fairbanks continued working on a number of projects.

Carl Merson was Dispatcher with Justin Thillman, Dennis Falter and Buster Hughes as crew.

     Sunday (7/28)

I was Dispatcher with Mark Dawson, John Engleman and Ed Amrhein as crew.
