ednesday (4/25)
Warren Olt was Dispatcher with John Diefenbach, Mike Citro, Ben Bates, M. Bates and Jim Robertson as crew for a series of charter groups.
Saturday (4/28)
With a sight pause in the track work, the completion of the fence along Falls Road moved up to the top of the list. Mark Hurley, Ed Amrhein, Chris Howell, Jim Robertson and I started to dig holes for the remaining fence posts.
John Engleman work on the extention of the O gauge display layout.
Paul Ritterhoff and I try to find the cause of a short in the high voltage controls of 6119 that had disabled it on Wednesday. Using a normal meter the circuit shows OK, but when High voltage is applied, it blows the fuse. 6119 was not on the pit, so inspection was very difficult. After some inspection, Paul and I decided that it would have to wait until we could get 6119 on the pit.
Buster was at work on 4533.
Sunday (4/29)
Carl Merson was Dispatcher with Dave Navjokas as crew.
Buster and Mark continued working on 4533.
Bill and I moved 6119 onto the pit to look for the short in the 600 VDC control system. In the process of searching for where to remove the ground from the master controller, we found the reason for a lone fuse located next to the controller. The fuse was on the ground side of the master controller and allows for very easy high voltage insulation testing. A careful
inspection of the master controller found the source of the intermittent short. A 600 VDC terminal had moved slightly and laid against another conductor, only that one was at ground. As will often happen, the insulation failed and a short was the result, but only with high voltage applied.
Wednesday (5/1)
Bob Krueger was Dispatcher with Paul Ritterhoff and Dennis Falter as crew for an evening charter.
Saturday (5/5)
The fence gang was back on duty, the last 3 of seven sections were installed by Ed Amrhein, Jim Robertson, Rick Obbink and I.
Rick Obbink and Gary Fairbanks continued the work on re gauging the tamper.
Sunday (5/6)
Rick Williams was Dispatcher with Dan Lawrence and John Diefenbach as crew.
Ed Amrhein and John Engleman continued to install the fence on the post installed the day before. All that is left to do is three gates and one more section of fence.
Rick Obbink continued to work on the tamper adapter extension.
